Action 5: Spray drift management and monitoring of the efficiency of mitigation measures for the minimization of surface water and bystander contamination Spray drift is one of the most important routes for the entry of pesticides into surface waters, contamination of adjacent crops, and pesticide exposure to wildlife, workers, bystanders and the agricultural population. This Action monitored the spray drift resulting from the practices commonly applied in the area, under various real-life conditions and scenarios. Existing problems are identified; drift management protocols have been developed and are being applied under the second and third year of the project to address these problems. Final drift measurements will assess the results of intervention.
